ADHD and education in focus

Vocational training is a vital step in preparing for a career, requiring young people to learn new coping strategies. While most people adapt well, it can be particularly challenging for people with ADHD, affecting both the learner and the training company. This event will offer you valuable insights and practical tips on supporting learners with ADHD.

09/27/2022 Dealing with mentally strained learners Vocational training is a crucial first step into working life demanding young people to develop new coping strategies. Approximately 60% apprentices face challenges during their training. These issues should neither be exaggerated nor trivialized. Many of these young people have pertinent problems and around half of those struggling are undergoing psychological or psychiatric treatment.

Lack of sleep among apprentices: A new phenomenon?
On the influence and use of digital media

One in three adults in Switzerland suffers from sleep problems. More and more young people are also affected by it. With consequences: overtired employees are less productive, sick more often and have more accidents. Apprentices in particular sometimes find it difficult to adjust their sleeping pattern to the new phase of life when they begin their careers. In many cases, their waking and sleeping patterns are also influenced by their use of digital media. Is this a fair impression? Is the smartphone and therefore the use of digital media responsible for this? Do young people have an increased susceptibility to sleep disorders and depressive symptoms? The event will delve into these questions and more.
06/25/2019 Tired at work:
Too little sleep can leave you feeling disoriented.
More and more people feel tired during the day and complain about sleep problems. The consequences of lack of sleep at work include decreased concentration, more mistakes and a higher propensity for risk-taking. It can also increase the risk of prescription drug abuse. In addition to nutrition and exercise, sleep is one of the three important pillars of a healthy life. Companies should therefore address sleep as part of their workplace health promotion programs.

09/26/2016 Career choice, career entry, and motivation A new world opens up for apprentices at the start of basic vocational training.
